About
From expression to a role, from a role to income… and on to independence
A Message from the Representative of Saisei Creators Project

Saisei Creator's Project aims for the social independence of people who need support.
Drawing, painting, making freely… expressing one's own feelings and view of the world in a single work.
We want to bring those works to society and let people know that these creators exist.
And as you enjoy each person's expression and give them your support, it becomes a first step toward social independence for people who need support.
This project brings to life the ideal of social inclusion that Saiseikai upholds.
We would be grateful for your understanding of this initiative and for your support in its many forms.
We would also be delighted to work with companies as co-creation partners.
Thank you.

A Message from the Project Lead of Saisei Creators Project
“A place where everyone can thrive by making the most of their strengths.”
Each of us has challenges and difficulties, but each of us has just as many strengths.
“Even if I can't go to school, I can draw pictures this good.”
“I'm not good at talking with people, but I can express myself wonderfully.”
“I became ill, but I love to draw.”
This project began from a wish to support people like them.
From here, we will look for partners to create products using these works, and by selling them, we hope to support these creators!
We sincerely ask for your help and support!

A Message from the Creative Director of Saisei Creators Project
For 25 years, I have worked in the world of apparel, translating culture, characters and people's feelings into the form of clothing.
My role in Saisei Creators Project is the same work.
I think about how what the artists have drawn on a single sheet of paper can take a form that reaches many people's hands, and I translate it into T-shirts and tote bags.
What I value most in doing so is never diminishing the power of the original work.
To bring each work into the world not as “a product for a good cause,” but as the expression of an individual artist.
I intend to devote my eye and my hands to this project for that purpose.
The artists' expression becoming part of someone's everyday life — I am truly honored to be the bridge that makes it possible.

About the Project
‐A place in society for everyone who needs support‐

Saisei Creator’s Project is a social inclusion project in which everyone who needs support in daily life — not only people with disabilities, but also people living with dementia, social withdrawal (hikikomori), school non-attendance, financial hardship, young carers and others — takes part in society as a “creator.”
The proceeds from the products made and sold are returned to the creators, helping them toward financial independence. We ask the creators to express their own feelings and view of the world in their works; by working with a range of companies to turn those works into products, we bring them to society and hope to let people know that these creators exist.
